Set up email on Apple iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch

*** Your iOS device must be running iOS version 11.x or higher, to support "modern" authentication protocols.  iOS 10.x or lower is not supported.

1. Tap Settings, then...

  • For iOS 13 and above, select Passwords & Accounts, then select Add Account.
  • For iOS 11/12, select Acounts & Passwords, then select Add Account.

2. Tap Microsoft Exchange.

3. Type in your email address, and a description for the account (ex: Barry Email).

  • You need to type your full email address in the Email field.
    • Faculty/Staff: username@barry.edu (for example: jdoe@barry.edu)
    • Students: firstname.lastname@mymail.barry.edu (for example: john.doe@mymail.barry.edu or john.doe@law.barry.edu)

4. Tap NEXT on the upper-right corner of the screen.

5. When prompted to Configure Manually or Sign In, chose Sign In.

6. A Barry login page will be shown, enter your email address and password, then tap Sign In.

7. A Microsoft screen will be shown, asking if you are trying to sign in to Apple Internet Accounts, tap Continue.

8. A screen will be shown indicating which items you want to sync (Mail, Contacts, Calendar, etc), select/desect the ones you want, then tap Save.

Now you will see your account listing showing your new account (and any other accounts you have setup).  The default sync setting for mail is 1 month, if you want to change that, tap your newly created account in the list, then change the Mail Days to Sync option as needed.  Close the Settings app and launch the Mail app to access your email.
