How to clear out the cache and cookies from a web browser

The instructions below will help clear out the cache, cookies, and temporary internet files from your preferred browser or mobile device in the event you are having problems accessing a web site.  For further assistance, please call the Support Desk at 305-899-3604.

 

Edge

  1. Open Microsoft Edge, select Menu (3 dots icon on top right corner of the browser) > Settings > Privacy, search, and services.
  2. Under Clear browsing data, select Choose what to clear.
  3. Select "Browsing history", "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files" then select Clear Now.
  4. Close and reopen the browser.

Internet Explorer:

  1.  Click Tools > Internet Options.
  2.  Under Browsing History, click Delete.
  3.  Select Temporary Internet Files and website files, Cookies and website data and History.
  4.  Click Delete and then click OK all the way out.
  5.  Close and reopen the browser.

Google Chrome:

  1. ​​​Click Customize and control Google Chrome (right-hand corner three vertical dots)
  2. Click More tools > Clear browsing data.
  3. Choose a time range, like Last hour or All time.
  4. Select the types of information you want to remove, Browsing historyCookies and other site data and Cached images and file.
  5. Click Clear data.
  6. Close and reopen the browser.

Firefox:

  1.  Click on the Open application menu  (the three line at top right-corner) to open the menu panel and select Settings.
    1. Or click Tools and then click Options
  2.  Click Privacy & Security panel.
  3.  In the Cookies and Site Data section, click Clear Data.
  4.  Select Cookies and Site Data and Cached Web Content, Clear then click Clear Now.
  5. Scroll down to the History seclection and select Clear History…
  6. Select how much history you want to clear:
    1. Click the drop-down menu next to Time range to clear to choose how much of your history Firefox will clear (the last hour, the last two hours, the last four hours, the current day or everything).
  7. Use the check boxes to select what information you want to clear from your history.
  8. Click the OK button. The window will close and the items you've selected will be cleared from your history.
  9. Close and reopen the browser.

Safari:

  1. Open Safari (if it's not open).  Click Safari on the toolbar and then click Preferences.
  2. Click Privacy and then click Details.
  3. Click Remove All and then click Done.

iPhone, iPod, and iPad:

  1. Click Settings and then click Safari.
  2. Scroll down (if on iPhone/iPod) and click Clear Cookies and Data.
  • If prompted with a warning message, click Clear Cookies and Data.

Android device (mobile and tablet):

  1. Open the Android browser on your device.
  2. Press the Menu key, and then click More (this may vary depending on the Android version).
  3. Click Settings and then scroll down to Privacy Settings.
  4. Click Clear all Cookie Data and then click OK.
