How can I remotely remove my Faculty/Staff email account if my mobile device is lost or stolen

If your mobile device is lost or stolen you can wipe all of the data from the device by following the instructions below, so sensitive information such as personal identification or confidential communications, aren't accessed by anyone other than the mailbox owner.

Note: Not all devices support remote device wipe. You can only wipe a mobile device for a user when Exchange ActiveSync is used to synchronize the contents of the mailbox.

1. Go to Outlook Web Access and log into your Faculty/Staff email account.

2. Once logged in, on the upper right-hand corner, click on the gear icon then click Options

5. When prompt Are you sure you want to delete this mobile phone? click "Yes".
(Note: The mobile device isn't given the remote wipe command until the next time it tries to synchronize with Microsoft Exchange.)

6. A confirmation e-mail is sent to your Barry Account as soon as the remote device wipe is complete.

7. Click Imagebutton to remove phone from list.
(Note: Perform this final step only if you are sure that you are not going to recover your lost or stolen device and your device is OFF. Once your device is synchronized to the exchange server, you will NOT be able reverse the process)
