Microsoft Office for free for students, faculty and staff!

Barry University is providing Microsoft Office to every student, faculty and staff free of charge!! As long as you're a student, faculty and staff here at Barry University, you will be able to use the software for free, and take advantage of the following:

Important   The process that installs Office 2016 also uninstalls all Office 2013 products. As you might expect, Word 2013, Excel 2013, and the rest of the Office suite are uninstalled. In addition, if a computer has InfoPath 2013, SharePoint Designer 2013, or certain versions of Visio 2013 or Project 2013 installed, installing Office 2016 also uninstalls those programs. You won’t be able to reinstall them.

To get Microsoft Office, follow these simple steps:

  1. For PC and Mac:

Option   1

  • Sign in to Office 365, at http://portal.office.com/OLS/MySoftware.aspx.
  • On the Office page, select a Language, and then choose Install to install the 32-bit version.
  • Note   To install the 64-bit version, choose 64-bit in the Version section before you choose Install. If you're uncertain, try Choose the 32-bit or 64-bit version of Office for more information.
  • At the bottom of the screen, select Run.
  • Follow the prompts and accept the license agreement.
  • When you see "You're good to go," select All done.

Tip   After installing, you can start to use Word, Excel, and the other Office applications. If you can't find the applications, learn how to find the Office applications that you just installed.

Option 2

  • Visit Office.com/GetOffice365
  • Click the Find out if you're eligible button.
  • Enter your Barry email address (firstname.lastname@mymail.barry.edu), and follow the prompts Sign up and Continue.
  • Enter your email address if needed and your password, and then click Login.
  • Follow the prompt Ok, got it.
  • On the Install Office on your PC page, select your language, and then click Install now.

Tip   After installing, you can start to use Word, Excel, and the other Office applications. If you can't find the applications, learn how to find the Office applications that you just installed.

Office supports PCs and Windows tablets running Windows 7 or higher, and Macs with Mac OS X 10.6 or higher.  Office for iPad can be installed on iPads running version 7.0 or higher.
