How to connect to a new Multifunction Printer that was deployed in December 2018.

You can run a batch file located here to connect to your printer(s) or follow the instructions below.

The following instructions are for employees with Windows computers.  Employees with Macintosh computers should submit a request for assistance.

Miami Shores campus:

The new multifunction printers deployed to this site will be connected to a new print server, but will have the same print "queue" names.  Please note that Colleague printing does not change, however you may need to "re-attach" the printer within Colleague before you can print to the new device.

  1. Get the "queue name" of your old multifunction printer:
    • Press the Windows key and R key, then type control printers and press Enter (this opens the Devices and Printers window).
    • Look for your old printer in the list, it should show as <queue name> on printsrv01.

  2. Connect to the new print queue on the new server:
    • Press the Windows key and R key, then type \\mfpsrv01\<queue name>  (without the < > symbols), then press Enter.
    • If prompted to install the driver, click Yes.
    • Once the install is completed, you will see the new device listed in your Devices and Printers window, showing as <queue name> on mfpsrv01.
      • (optional) Right-click the new printer and select Set as default printer.
      • (optional) Print a test page or document to confirm you can print.

  3. Delete the old device:
    • Once you have confirmed you can print to the new device, in the Devices and Printers window select the old device (showing as <queue name> on printsrv01), right-click and select Remove Device, then click Yes to delete the old device.

If you need assistance with the instructions above, you can contact the IT Support Desk at (305) 899-3604.
