What happens to my Office 365 account when I graduate or leave Barry University?

Individuals that are no longer employed or enrolled at Barry University are not eligible for the campus offering of Office 365. Once your BarryNet account is deleted or you graduate, previously downloaded and installed Office Apps will require another form of activation or data stored within the Office 365 suite of services will become unavailable.

Email account:

As a Barry University retiree or alumni you can keep, and can continue to use your Barry email account, as this is an e-mail account hosted with Microsoft, as long as, you access your email account at least one time per year.

Office Apps:

If you downloaded and installed Office from Office 365, you will receive a prompt after you retire or graduate that asks for you to Activate Office. You can purchase Office 365 from Microsoft using your personal email account.

Data in OneDrive:

Before your account is transited to an alumni account you can save all your data at one time by using Microsoft OneDrive Sync. Setup instructions are available here. If only a few items are required, you can download them individually.  Follow the instructions here for more information.

Office for the web:

As a Barry University retiree or alumni you can access the Office suite at Office for the web.  Login using your Barry email address and password.  At the top left of the web browser click + Add new to access Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other applications.
