I need to request interlibrary loan

This service provides the access and requesting of library materials (books, articles, media) from outside of the Monsignor William Barry Memorial Library system through Interlibrary Loan (ILL).

 

What is included

  • Request of materials from outside of the Monsignor William Barry Memorial Library
  • ATTENTION! Before requesting interlibrary loan services, make sure you have done the following:
    • Please check the BLISS Online Catalog to see if the Monsignor William Barry Memorial Library owns the books/journals. ILL will not process a request for items held by the library.
    • Please check Electronic Journal Directory to see if the journal is available full text, online, or via library databases.
  • Barry University uses the ILLiad Interlibrary Loan software. This software will allow you to track the status of your Interlibrary Loan requests Online.
  • You must register and create a username and password before you can submit requests.

  • If you have forgotten your password to log onto ILLiad and need to have your password reset, please call 305-899-3943 or send an email to ill@barry.edu

 

Exclusions and/or Nonstandard features

Exclusion:

Barry University Alumni are ineligible for ILL services, and are encouraged to contact their nearest public library for interlibrary loan assistance.

  • Current students, faculty, and staff

 

Service Level Agreement

  • Respond in 24 hours. ILL requests may take a business week or longer based on the requesting library and distance.

 

What happens next

After the request form is submitted, you will be notified when the material arrives. Many libraries ship photocopies of articles to us in electronic format. Some materials through ILLiad, we are able to offer you the option of electronic delivery of these articles in PDF format (Adobe's Portable Document Format).
