OneDrive for Business - Move files from OneDrive to USB or personal computer

Set up your computer to sync your OneDrive for Business files in Office 365

Use OneDrive for Business to sync your school or work files to your computer. After that, you can work with files directly in your file system and access them even when you're offline. Whenever you're online, any changes that you or others make will sync automatically.

To sync OneDrive for Business to your computer in Office 365

1.   Sign in to Office 365 with your work or school account.

2.   Select the app launcher , and then select OneDrive .

 

3.   Select the Settings (gears wheel) button at the top right and click Sync this OneDrive.

4.   If you have OndeDrive already installed your browser asks for permission to open Microsoft OneDrive, click Open Microsoft OneDrive.

5.   What happens next depends on whether you have the latest version of OneDrive already, whether you're signed in to OneDrive with your work or school account, and whether you use classic OneDrive.

o    If the We're syncing your files dialog box appears and nothing else happens, click Install the latest version of OneDrive.

When the download finishes you’ll be asked to sign in.

o    If the Set up OneDrive dialog box appears, sign in with your work or school account.

o    If you already have the latest version of OneDrive and you're already signed in, OneDrive will open and you'll be at the next step.

6.   When OneDrive opens follow the prompts on the screen if it is your first time using OneDrive until the dialog box Sync your OneDrive files to this PC appears, choose the folders you want to sync, or select Sync all files and folders, and then select OK.

 

7.   Sync is all set up now. You can close the We're syncing your files dialog box now, if it’s still open in web browser.
Your OneDrive for Business files will now appear in File Explorer or Finder as OneDrive – Barry University

     You now have a new white or blue cloud icon (or both) in your notification area and your files are synced to your computer. Your blue cloud icon will appear as OneDrive – Barry University when you hover over the icon.

8.   To complete backup of your documents, simply copy and paste the selected files from the OneDrive - Barry University folder to the folder of your choice on your computer.
