Spring 2024 Wireless Infrastructure Upgrade
Wi-Fi is a primary method by which students, faculty and staff access the campus network and on-line services. Our existing wireless infrastructure has aged and reached its end of life, and we’ve started work on replacing it with the newest generation of wireless networking technology known as Wi-Fi 6, which will bring several advancements in speed, capacity, efficiency and performance. Over the next several weeks, a major portion of the work will proceed with replacing the 1200 access points across campus. We have a schedule listing the buildings and initial dates for replacement. As things progress, the dates could shift, and we’ll update the schedule accordingly.
Replacement of the access points is straightforward and should take approximately 15 minutes. The teams will ensure connectivity is working before moving on to their next location. However, if you experience issues or have any other questions, please contact us
