Purpose of XM SendSecure
XM SendSecure is designed to safeguard emails and their attachments while they are in transit (moving through servers or stored in the cloud). It ensures that sensitive information remains encrypted and protected from unauthorized access.

When to Use XM SendSecure
XM SendSecure must be used when sending:
- Passwords
- Personally Identifiable Information (PII)
- Legal documents
- Transcripts
- Protected Health Information (PHI) (including patient records)
This ensures compliance with security and privacy best practices, reducing the risk of unauthorized data exposure.
How to Send a File using a Web Client
Login to SendSecure
- Go to the SendSecure login page, type "barryu" in the Enterprise account field, press TAB, then login with your email address, password and your Multi-factor authentication option. Once logged in click the New button.

Address your message to the recipient by typing the email address. Add a Subject line for the message, a message to the recipient and add your attachment by browsing to the location of your file to send. When your message is complete press Send. The file will be upload to the SendSecure SafeBox.

After sending your message you will see the message in your SafeBox list, along with any other secure messages you have sent.
When you are done Sign out of your account from the drop-down box below your name at the top right.

The recipient will receive a email message letting the person know how to access the file and how long the file will be available (for example 14 days).

When the message expires, the recipient won't be able to access the message or its contents/files. The listing will remain in your SafeBox view, however any/all attachments are deleted upon expiration.
