Service related to a wall plate

This service includes activating/deactivating ports and/or fixing existing network wall plates. DoIT oversees Ethernet and fiber-optic data cables for data, voice and video for offices, labs and other facilities at Miami Shores main campus and remote locations.  This service includes the cabling and connections from the nearest telecom closet to the customer’s requested faceplate outlet location. 

 

What's Included

  • Troubleshooting or fixing of damaged faceplate/wall plate/port
  • Ethernet cables
  • Activation and/or deactivation of network ports
  • A request to activate a network connection is used when an existing “jack” on the wall already exists.  The requester is simply asking for the service to be turned on. 
  • Troubleshooting of network problems
  • Switch maintenance
  • 100 Mbps to desktop machines

Faculty, Staff, Students, and non-employees

 

What happens next

Upon receipt of a request, a representative will be assigned to activate the specified connection, troubleshoot an issue, and/or respond as needed.
