Using Automatic replies and setting Out of Offuce messages in Outlook (Classic & New) and Outlook on the Web

Using New Outlook app


1.  Log into your email account by going to your New Outlook App, click on Settings (gear-wheel icon at the top right of screen).

2. On the left-hand side, click Accounts > Automatic Replies and click Turn on automatic replies.

3. If you wish to send them only during a certain time period, select Send replies only during this time period and select the date range. 

  • In the text box Send automatic replies inside your organization, type the message you would like individuals from Barry to receive.
  • In the text box Send replies outside your organization, type the message you would like individuals outside of Barry to receive.

4. Once you are done, click Save at the bottom right-hand corner and close out of the window.

Using Outlook (classic) app


1.  In Outlook, click File then Automatic Replies

2.  Select Send automatic replies.  If you wish to send them only during a certain time period, select Only send during this time range: and select the date range. 

3.  Click the Inside My Organization tab, and type the message you would like individuals from Barry to receive.
 

OR

     Click the Outside My Organization (On) tab.  Check Auto-reply to people outside my organization and then select Anyone outside my organization.  Type the message you would like individuals from outside of Barry to receive.

5. Click "Ok"

 

Using Outlook on the Web


1.  Log into your email account by going to http://barrymail.barry.edu/, click on Settings (gears icon) at the top right corner.

2. On the left-hand side, click Account > Automatic Replies and click to toggle Automatic replies on button

  • If you wish to send them only during a certain time period, select Send replies only during this time period and select the date range. 

3. In the text box Send automatic replies inside your organization, type the message you would like individuals from Barry to receive.

4. In the text box Send replies outside your organization, type the message you would like individuals outside of Barry to receive.

5. Once you are done, click Save at the bottom right-hand corner and Close Out of the window.

Using Outlook mobile app


1. In New Outlook, click on the circle at the top left corner with your initial or photo in it.

2. Click on Settings (gears wheel icon at bottom left corner).

3. Click on Automatic Replies and click on Automatic replies to toggle on. If you have multiple accounts, choose the account(s) you wish to add an automatic reply to. 

4. If you wish to send them only during a certain time period, select Reply during a time period and select the date range. 

  • Select Reply only to my organization, to type the message you would like individuals from Barry to receive.
  • Select Reply to everyone, type the message you would like individuals in and outside of Barry to receive. You can choose to type different messages for people inside and outside of Barry if you wish.

5. Once you are done, click the check mark at the top right corner to save.
