Clearing an incorrect name cached in Outlook and Outlook on the web


After you type an e-mail address in Outlook, the program caches the e-mail address.  To clear the cached entry so that it no longer appears:


1. Create a new mail message and begin typing the e-mail address in the TO field.

2. When the cached entry is displayed from the drop down list that appears:

  • On Outlook, click on the "X" next to the cached entry to delete it.


  • On Outlook on the web (Webmail), highlight the cached entry using the arrow keys on the keyboard.  Use the Delete button on the keyboard to delete the entry.
    • If you use the mouse, it will select the cached entry and use it in the TO field rather than highlight it.
